Cohere and the University of Toronto partner to advance responsible AI adoption at scale

Today, Cohere and the University of Toronto announced a multi-year partnership to support the responsible adoption of AI across one of Canada’s leading research and educational institutions. The partnership brings together U of T’s expertise in research, education and responsible technology adoption with Cohere’s sovereign, enterprise-grade AI technology. Cohere’s privately deployable agentic AI platform, North, will serve as an orchestration layer within U of T’s forthcoming enterprise-wide AI platform, helping members of the university community manage complex tasks and securely access trusted information across university systems. The collaboration will support U of T as it explores how AI can enable teaching and learning, research, student services, administration and university operations. It will give faculty, librarians staff and students new ways to manage complex tasks, find relevant information and improve service delivery, while keeping sensitive data secure and under the university’s control. The partnership also marks a homecoming for Cohere, which was founded in 2019 by former U of T students Aidan Gomez, Nick Frosst and Ivan Zhang. …
